Construction

Machined from solid lead sheets

Radiation Shielding, Inc. dispensing hot cells are constructed of machined sheets of solid lead that are mounted on a steel frame. The hot cell can be manufactured any size you wish. The height of the hot cell is adjustable.

Shielding

Radiation Shielding, Inc. dispensing hot cells provide 360° shielding. The walls, top and floor can be any thickness of lead. If the space above the hot cell is unoccupied, the hot cell can be manufactured without lead shielding in the top to reduce cost. All doors are stepped. Since lead bricks are not used, there is no possibility of radiation shine outside the hot cell.

Doors

All doors include secure seals

Radiation Shielding, Inc. dispensing hot cells can be manufactured with your choice of door sizes and locations. You can have a motorized sliding front door, a hinged front door, or no front door at all. Doors can be located on either side or the back. All doors are shielded, stepped, air tight and can be of any size. All doors can be lockable (manual or electric).

Viewing Window

Radiation Shielding, Inc. dispensing hot cells feature 5.2 g/cm3 lead glass windows that are protected on both sides with clear polycarbonate to prevent scratching. The window can be any size with any thickness of lead glass.

Finish

Radiation Shielding, Inc. dispensinnterg hot cells feature super 8 mirrored seamless AISI 316L stainless steel interiors and seamless AISI 304 #3 brushed stainless steel exteriors. Internal corners have a radius for ease of cleaning.

Lighting

Radiation Shielding, Inc. dispensing hot cells feature interior LED lighting that is switched outside the cell. Your chose the number of LEDs that you require.

Electrical Outlets

Radiation Shielding, Inc. dispensing hot cells feature interior duplex outlets that are switched outside. Your chose the number of outlets that you require.

Penetrations

All penetrations into the dispensing hot cell are via Roxtec MultidiameterTM sealing modules.

Ventilation

Radiation Shielding, Inc. dispensing hot cells feature fans with pre-filter and 99.9% HEPA-filtered intake air. The dispensing hot cells comply with USP <797> and provide an ISO 5 (Class 100) environment and laminar flow air.

Telemanipulator Arms

Radiation Shielding, Inc. dispensing hot cells accommodate either Tru-Motion or Central Research Laboratories (CRL) telemanipulator arms.

Dose Calibrator Shielding

Optional, unique dose calibrator shield

The dose calibrator is accessible via a hole machined in the dispensing hot cell floor. The location of the hole is your choice. Unique dose calibrator shielding allows the dose calibrator to be removed for service without disassembling the dose calibrator shield.

Ante-chamber

Radiation Shielding, Inc. dispensing hot cells are available with your choice of ante-chamber design and location.

Vertical Pass-thru

Radiation Shielding, Inc. dispensing hot cells are available with an air-operated vertical pass-thru to move vials and syringes into and out of the hot cell. The pass-thru is activated via foot pedal or hand control.

Horizontal Pass-thru

Radiation Shielding, Inc. dispensing hot cells are available with an air-operated horizontal pass-thru to move vials and syringes into and out of the hot cell. The pass-thru is activated via foot pedal or hand control.

Pressure

Radiation Shielding, Inc. dispensing hot cells are available at either positive or negative pressure relative to the room in which they are located.

Pressure Differential Gauge

Radiation Shielding, Inc. dispensing hot cells feature a pressure differential gauge to monitor the integrity of the system filtration system.

Shielded Product Delivery Line

Radiation Shielding, Inc. dispensing hot cells are available with a floor-to-hot-cell shielded product delivery line.

115 VAC, 15 A (or local international standard)
